Dave was born in 1955 and grew up in Napa, California, where he excelled athletically, becoming an All-American collegiate athlete. Dave played professional football in the 1970's for Hank Stram and the New Orleans Saints, as an offensive tackle, protecting Archie Manning. He ended his football career with the Denver Broncos.
In 1979 Dave moved from the active world of professional football into a sedentary job. His playing weight combined with a serious back injury made it difficult to get and stay physically fit. One day he was startled to read, in the NFL Alumni Newsletter, that the average life span of an ex-NFL athlete was only 53 years of age. He decided to get serious about his health. Today, at 53, fit and feeling great, Dave's very glad he stuck with that decision.
Following his serious back injury, Dave discovered a method of exercise that allowed him to build strength without hurting his back. Discouraged by the percentage of Americans who are sedentary and not exercising consistently, Dave developed a unique exercise program that takes away virtually every excuse one might come up with not to exercise, while emphasizing the biggest missing ingredient in most people's exercise routine - STRENGTH!
Known today as America's Fitness Coach®, Dave has presented and lectured to corporations, and professional organizations throughout the United States, since 1989, motivating and challenging busy business professionals to take better care of their most valuable asset—their body.
In 1992 Dave founded the ministry Of Some Value®, bringing his message of fitness, and personal responsibility, to churches and religious organizations. Dave has been featured many times on radio and television.
Dave and his wife Melinda live in Marietta, Georgia and have two adult children.
